Copies of Cardinal Nichols’ pastoral letter are available at the back of the church. It is the poor, weak and voiceless who will be put in danger of undue pressure and even coercion. Please write to your MP in your own words expressing your opposition to this unwelcome and dangerous innovation. [Please be aware that our MP in Ilford North, Wes Streeting, the Secretary of State for Health, has indicated that he will vote against the bill]. “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.”

Envelopes in which to place the names of loved ones who have died and who you would like included on the list are at the back of the church. Daniel, a young man in Democratic Republic of the Congo, is carving a better future for his family with carpentry skills he learned in a CAFOD-funded training centre. Give to CAFOD next week and you’ll fund training, tools, equipment and safe spaces so more people like Daniel can learn new skills and fulfil their God-given potential. Use the envelope in church or give online at cafod.org.uk/envelope .
FOOD BANK – we are still collecting for the food bank for refugees and asylum seekers. They are not allowed to work or claim benefits and so are entirely reliant on help from others. With the recent unrest we can see how they can be targeted and vilified. The basket for contributions is in the Lady Chapel.
